Cities around the world tote their large Christmas displays. People travel long distances to see these elaborate, minature worlds. Hudson’s in Detroit, which was sadly demolished in October of 1998, was renowned for its window displays. My Father’s family would go down there every year to do their shopping and of course get their photos with Santa or the giant sleigh. When my Dad talks about the Christmas season at Hudson’s, his face lights up. Thanks to a website called Virtual Detroit created by Wayne State and DetroitMemories.com, we can share these memories with others and reminise for those who remember.

Although Hudson’s is gone, Campus Martius looks wonderful and offers a lot of fun activities and eats.  Make sure to visit and create your own holiday memories in downtown Detroit!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and I hope everyone has a great New Years!
